‘কাল সম্পূর্ণ হইল, ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য সন্নিকট হইল; তোমরা মন ফিরাও, ও সুসমাচারে বিশ্বাস কর।’

যীশু বললেন, ‘সময় এসে গেছে; ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য খুব কাছে। তোমরা পাপের পথ থেকে মন ফেরাও এবং ঈশ্বরের সুসমাচারে বিশ্বাস কর।

and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

যীশু তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, আমার পশ্চাৎ আইস, আমি তোমাদিগকে মনুষ্যধারী করিব।

যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, ‘ওহে তোমরা আমার সঙ্গে এস, আমি তোমাদের মাছ নয়, ঈশ্বরের জন্য মানুষ ধরতে শেখাব।’

And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

আর কোন পরিবার যদি আপনার বিপক্ষে ভিন্ন হইয়া পড়ে, তবে সেই পরিবার স্থির থাকিতে পারে না।

আবার কোন পরিবারে যদি পারিবারিক কলহ শুরু হয়, তবে সেই পরিবার এক থাকতে পারে না।

And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

মনুষ্যের বাহিরে এমন কিছুই নাই, যাহা তাহার ভিতরে গিয়া তাহাকে অশুচি করিতে পারে;

মানুষের বাইরে এমন কিছু নেই যা ভেতরে গিয়ে তাকে কলুষিত করতে পারে।

There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him,

There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him:

কিন্তু যাহা যাহা মনুষ্য হইতে বাহির হয়, সেই সকলই মনুষ্যকে অশুচি করে।

কিন্তু যা যা মানুষের ভেতর থেকে বের হয় সেটাই মানুষকে কলুষিত করে।

but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.

but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

তিনি তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, তোমরাও কি এমন অবোধ? তোমরা কি বুঝ না যে, যাহা কিছু বাহির হইতে মনুষ্যের ভিতরে যায়, তাহা তাহাকে অশুচি করিতে পারে না?

তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, ‘তোমরাও কি অবোধ? তোমরা কি বোঝ না, বাইরে থেকে যা কিছু মানুষের ভেতরে যায় তা তাকে কলুষিত করতে পারে না?

And he said to them, Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him,

And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;

তাহা ত তাহার হৃদয়ে প্রবেশ করে না, কিন্তু উদরে প্রবেশ করে, এবং বহিঃস্থানে গিয়া পড়ে। এ কথায় তিনি সমস্ত খাদ্য দ্রব্যকে শুচি বলিলেন।

কারণ এটা তার অন্তরে যেতে পারে না, পাকস্থলীতে যায় এবং তারপর দেহের বাইরে গিয়ে পড়ে।’ এই কথার মাধ্যমে তিনি সমস্ত খাবারকেই শুদ্ধ বললেন।

since it enters not his heart but his stomach, and is expelled? (Thus he declared all foods clean.)

Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?

তিনি আরও কহিলেন, মনুষ্য হইতে যাহা বাহির হয়, তাহাই মনুষ্যকে অশুচি করে।

তিনি আরও বললেন, মানুষের অন্তর থেকে যা বার হয়, সেটাই মানুষকে কলুষিত করে।

And he said, What comes out of a person is what defiles him.

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

কেননা ভিতর হইতে, মনুষ্যদের অন্তঃকরণ হইতে, কুচিন্তা বাহির হয় - বেশ্যাগমন, চৌর্য, নরহত্যা,

কারণ মানুষের ভেতর অর্থাত্ মন থেকে বার হয় কুত্‌সিত চিন্তা, লালসা, চুরি, খুন,

For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery,

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

পরে তিনি আপন শিষ্যগণের সহিত লোকসমূহকেও ডাকিয়া কহিলেন, কেহ যদি আমার পশ্চাৎ আসিতে ইচ্ছা করে, সে আপনাকে অস্বীকার করুক, আপন ক্রুশ তুলিয়া লউক, এবং আমার পশ্চাদগামী হউক।

এরপর তিনি শিষ্যদের সঙ্গে অন্যান্য লোকদেরও নিজের কাছে ডেকে বললেন, ‘কেউ যদি আমার সঙ্গে আসতে চায়, সে নিজেকে অস্বীকার করুক এবং তার নিজের ক্রুশ তুলে নিয়ে আমার অনুসারী হোক।

And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

বস্তুতঃ মনুষ্য যদি সমুদয় জগৎ লাভ করিয়া আপন প্রাণ খোয়ায়, তবে তাহার কি লাভ হইবে?

মানুষ যদি নিজের জীবন হারিয়ে সমস্ত জগত লাভ করে তবে তার কি লাভ?

For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

যীশু তাহাকে কহিলেন, যদি পারেন! যে বিশ্বাস করে, তাহার পক্ষে সকলই সাধ্য।

যীশু তাকে বললেন, ‘কি বললে, ‘যদি পারেন! যে বিশ্বাস করে তার পক্ষে সবই সম্ভব।’

And Jesus said to him, "'If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes."

Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

অতএব ঈশ্বর যাহার যোগ করিয়া দিয়াছেন, মনুষ্য তাহার বিয়োগ না করুক।

অতএব ঈশ্বর যাদের যোগ করে দিয়েছেন, মানুষ তাদের বিচ্ছিন্ন না করুক।

What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

কিন্তু যীশু তাহা দেখিয়া অসন্তুষ্ট হইলেন, আর তাঁহাদিগকে কহিলেন, শিশুদিগকে আমার নিকটে আসিতে দেও, বারণ করিও না; কেননা ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য এই মত লোকদেরই।

যীশু তা দেখে ক্রুদ্ধ হলেন এবং তাদের বললেন, ‘ছোট ছোট ছেলেমেয়েদের আমার কাছে আসতে দাও। তাদের বারণ করো না, কারণ এদের মত লোকদের জন্যই তো ঈশ্বরের রাজ্য।

But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

যীশু তাহাকে কহিলেন, আমাকে সৎ কেন বলিতেছ? একজন ব্যতিরেকে সৎ আর কেহ নাই, তিনি ঈশ্বর।

তখন যীশু তাকে বললেন, তুমি কেন আমাকে সত্ বলছ? ঈশ্বর ছাড়া আর কেউই সত্ নয়।

And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.

And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে ধনবানের প্রবেশ করা অপেক্ষা বরং সূচীর ছিদ্র দিয়া উটের যাওয়া সহজ।

একজন ধনী লোকের ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে প্রবেশ করার চেয়ে বরং সূচের ছিদ্র দিয়ে উটের যাওয়া সহজ।

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

যীশু তাঁহাদের প্রতি দৃষ্টি করিয়া কহিলেন, ইহা মনুষ্যের অসাধ্য বটে, কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের অসাধ্য নয়, কারণ ঈশ্বরের সকলই সাধ্য।

তখন যীশু তাদের দিকে তাকিয়ে বললেন, ‘এটা মানুষের পক্ষে অসম্ভব; কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে নয়, কারণ সমস্ত কিছুই ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে সম্ভব।’

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God."

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

কারণ বাস্তবিক মনুষ্যপুত্রও পরিচর্য্যা পাইতে আসেন নাই, কিন্তু পরিচর্য্যা করিতে এবং অনেকের পরিবর্ত্তে আপন প্রাণ মুক্তির মূল্যরূপে দিতে আসিয়াছেন।

কারণ বাস্তবে মানবপুত্রও সেবা পেতে আসেন নি, তিনি অন্যের সেবা করতেই এসেছেন এবং অনেক মানুষের মুক্তিপণ হিসাবে নিজের জীবন দিতে এসেছেন।

For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

এই জন্য আমি তোমাদিগকে বলি, যাহা কিছু তোমরা প্রার্থনা ও যাচ্ঞা কর, বিশ্বাস করিও যে, তাহা পাইয়াছ, তাহাতে তোমাদের জন্য তাহাই হইবে।

এইজন্য আমি তোমাদের বলি, তোমরা যা কিছুর জন্য প্রার্থনা কর, যদি বিশ্বাস কর যে, তোমরা তা পেয়েছ, তাহলে তোমাদের জন্য তা হবেই।

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

মৃতদের মধ্য হইতে উঠিলে পর লোকেরা ত বিবাহ করে না, এবং বিবাহিতাও হয় না, বরং স্বর্গে দূতগণের ন্যায় থাকে। 

কারণ মৃতদের মধ্যে থেকে পুনরুত্থিত হলে তারা বিয়ে করে না, বা তাদের বিয়ে দেওয়া হয় না, বরং তারা স্বর্গে স্বর্গদূতদের মতোই থাকে।

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.

কিন্তু মৃতদের বিষয়ে, তাহারা যে উত্থিত হয়, এই বিষয়ে মোশির গ্রন্থে ঝোপের বৃত্তান্তে ঈশ্বর তাঁহাকে কিরূপ বলিয়াছিলেন, তাহা কি তোমরা পাঠ কর নাই? তিনি বলিয়াছিলেন, ‘‘আমি অব্রাহামের ঈশ্বর, ইস্‌হাকের ঈশ্বর ও যাকোবের ঈশ্বর।”

কিন্তু পুনরুত্থান হবে কিনা এ ব্যাপারে মোশির পুস্তকে লেখা জ্বলন্ত ঝোপেরঅংশটিতে ঈশ্বর তাকে কি বলেছিলেন তা কি তোমরা পড় নি? তিনি বলেছিলেন, ‘আমি অব্রাহামের ঈশ্বর, ইসহাকের ঈশ্বর এবং যাকোবের ঈশ্বর।’

And as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?

তিনি মৃতদের ঈশ্বর নহেন, কিন্তু জীবিতদের। তোমরা বড়ই ভ্রান্তিতে পড়িয়াছ।

তিনি মৃতদের ঈশ্বর নন, জীবিতদেরই ঈশ্বর। তোমরা বড়ই ভুল করেছ।

He is not God of the dead, but of the living. You are quite wrong.

He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.

যীশু তাঁহাদিগকে বলিতে লাগিলেন, দেখিও, কেহ যেন তোমাদিগকে না ভুলায়।

যীশু তাঁদের বললেন, “সতর্ক থেকো, কেউ যেন তোমাদের সঙ্গে প্রতারণা না করে।

And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray.

And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

অনেকে আমার নাম ধরিয়া আসিবে, বলিবে, আমিই সেই, আর অনেক লোককে ভুলাইবে।

অনেকে আমার নাম নিয়ে আসবে, দাবি করবে, ‘আমিই তিনি,’ আর এভাবে অনেক মানুষকে প্রতারিত করবে।

Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

কিন্তু তোমরা যখন যুদ্ধের কথা ও যুদ্ধের জনরব শুনিবে, তখন ব্যাকুল হইও না; এই সকল অবশ্যই ঘটিবে, কিন্তু তখনও শেষ নয়।

তোমরা যখন যুদ্ধের কথা ও যুদ্ধের জনরব শুনবে, তখন আতঙ্কগ্রস্ত হইও না। এধরনের ঘটনা অবশ্যই ঘটবে, কিন্তু কালের অন্তিম-লগ্ন তখনও উপস্থিত হবে না।

And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet.

And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

কারণ জাতির বিপক্ষে জাতি, ও রাজ্যের বিপক্ষে রাজ্য উঠিবে। স্থানে স্থানে ভূমিকম্প হইবে, দুর্ভিক্ষ হইবে; এ সকল যাতনার আরম্ভমাত্র।

কারণ জাতির বিরুদ্ধে জাতি এবং রাজ্যের বিরুদ্ধে রাজ্য জেগে উঠবে। স্থানে স্থানে ভূমিকম্প, দুর্ভিক্ষ হবে। এসব কেবল জন্ম যন্ত্রণার আরন্ভ মাত্র।

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

আর আমার নাম প্রযুক্ত তোমরা সকলের ঘৃণিত হইবে; কিন্তু যে কেহ শেষ পর্য্যন্ত স্থির থাকিবে, সেই পরিত্রাণ পাইবে।

আর আমার নামের জন্য সকলে তোমাদের ঘৃণা করবে। কিন্তু যে শেষ পর্যন্ত স্থির থাকবে সেই রক্ষা পাবে।

And you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
