অতএব খ্রীষ্ট যীশুকে, প্রভুকে, যেমন গ্রহণ করিয়াছ, তেমনি তাঁহাতেই চল;

খ্রীষ্ট যীশুকে তোমরা যেমনভাবে প্রভু বলে গ্রহণ করেছ তেমনভাবেই যীশুতে জীবনযাপন করতে থাক।

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him;

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

ঊর্দ্ধস্থ বিষয় ভাব, পৃথিবীস্থ বিষয় ভাবিও না।

সেই স্বর্গীয় বিষয়সকলের কথা ভাব, যে সকল বিষয়বস্তু জগতে আছে সেগুলির বিষয় নয়।

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

অতএব তোমরা পৃথিবীস্থ আপন আপন অঙ্গ সকল মৃত্যুসাৎ কর, যথা, বেশ্যাগমণ, অশুচিতা, মোহ, কু-অভিলাষ, এবং লোভ, এ ত প্রতিমাপূজা। এই সকলের কারণ অবাধ্যতার সন্তানগণের প্রতি ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ উপস্থিত হয়।

তাই তোমাদের জাগতিক স্বভাব থেকে সব মন্দ বিষয় দূর করে দাও। যেমন: যৌনপাপ, অপবিত্রতা, অশুচি চিন্তার বশবর্তী হওয়া, মন্দ বিষয়ের লালসা করা এবং লোভ। লোভ এক প্রকার প্রতিমা পূজা। এইসবের জন্য ঈশ্বরের ক্রোধ হচ্ছে।

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

কিন্তু এখন তোমরাও এ সকল ত্যাগ কর, - ক্রোধ, রাগ, হিংসা, নিন্দা ও তোমাদের মুখনির্গত কুৎসিত আলাপ।

কিন্তু এখন তোমাদের জীবন থেকে রাগ, ক্রোধ, ঘৃণাপূর্ণ অনুভূতি, অপমানসূচক আচরণ এবং লজ্জাজনক আলাপ সব দূর করে দাও।

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

এক জন অন্য জনের কাছে মিথ্যা কথা কহিও না; কেননা তোমরা পুরাতন মনুষ্যকে তাহার ক্রিয়াশুদ্ধ বস্ত্রবৎ ত্যাগ করিয়াছ, এবং সেই নূতন মনুষ্যকে পরিধান করিয়াছ, যে আপন সৃষ্টিকর্তার প্রতিমূর্ত্তি অনুসারে তত্ত্ব-জ্ঞানের নিমিত্ত নূতনীকৃত হইতেছে।

পরস্পরের কাছে মিথ্যা বল না, কারণ তোমরা তোমাদের পুরানো পাপময় সত্ত্বাকে তার সমস্ত মন্দ কর্ম সমেত ত্যাগ করেছ। তোমরা নতুন সত্ত্বাকে পরিধান করেছ; এই নতুন জীবনে তোমাদের নতুন করে তৈরী করা হচ্ছে। তোমাদের যিনি সৃষ্টি করেছেন তোমরা তাঁর মতো হয়ে উঠছ, এই নতুন জীবনের মাধ্যমে তোমরা ঈশ্বরের সত্য পরিচয় পাচ্ছ।

Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

পরস্পর সহনশীল হও, এবং যদি কাহাকেও দোষ দিবার কারণ থাকে, তবে পরস্পর ক্ষমা কর; প্রভু যেমন তোমাদিগকে ক্ষমা করিয়াছেন, তোমরাও তেমনি কর।

পরস্পরের প্রতি ক্রুদ্ধ ভাব রেখো না কিন্তু একে অপরকে ক্ষমা কর। কেউ যদি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে কোন অন্যায় করে, তবে একে অপরকে ক্ষমা কর। অপরকে ক্ষমা কর, কারণ প্রভু তোমাদের ক্ষমা করেছেন।

bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

আর বাক্যে কি কার্য্যে যাহা কিছু কর, সকলই প্রভু যীশুর নামে কর, তাঁহার দ্বারা পিতা ঈশ্বরের ধন্যবাদ করিতে করিতে ইহা কর।

কথায় বা কাজে যা কিছু কর, সবই প্রভুর নামে কর এবং পিতা ঈশ্বরকে যীশুর মাধ্যমে ধন্যবাদ দাও।

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

নারীগণ, তোমরা আপন আপন স্বামীর বশীভূতা হও, যেমন প্রভুতে উপযুক্ত।

স্ত্রীরা, তোমরা তোমাদের স্বামীর অনুগতা থাক, এটাই হবে প্রভুর অনুসারীদের উপযুক্ত কাজ।

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

স্বামীরা, তোমরা আপন আপন স্ত্রীকে প্রেম কর, তাহাদের প্রতি কটুব্যবহার করিও না।

স্বামীরা, তোমরা তোমাদের স্ত্রীকে ভালবাস, তাদের সঙ্গে মধুর ব্যবহার করো।

Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

সন্তানেরা, তোমরা সর্ব্ববিষয়ে পিতামাতার আজ্ঞাবহ হও, কেননা তাহাই প্রভুতে তুষ্টিজনক।

সন্তানেরা, তোমরা সব বিষয়ে তোমাদের বাবা-মার বাধ্য হও; এতে প্রভু সন্তুষ্ট হন।

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

পিতারা, তোমরা আপন আপন সন্তানদিগকে ক্রুদ্ধ করিও না, পাছে তাহাদের মনোভঙ্গ হয়।

পিতারা, তোমরা তোমাদের সন্তানদের বিরক্ত করো না, তাদের খুশী মতো চলতে না পারলে তারা উৎসাহ হারাবে।

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

দাসেরা, যাহারা মাংসের সম্বন্ধে তোমাদের প্রভু, তোমরা তাহাদের আজ্ঞাবহ হও; চাক্ষুষ সেবা দ্বারা মনুষ্যের তুষ্টিকরের মত নয়, কিন্তু অন্তঃকরণের সরলতায় প্রভুকে ভয় করিয়া আজ্ঞাবহ হও।

ক্রীতদাসেরা, তোমাদের মনিবদের সব বিষয়ে মান্য করবে। তাঁরা দেখুন বা না দেখুন তোমরা সব সময় তাঁদের বাধ্য থেকো এতে তোমরা মানুষকে খুশী করতে নয় কিন্তু প্রভুকেই খুশী করতে চেষ্টা করছ, সুতরাং সততার সঙ্গে মনিবদের মান্য করো, কারণ তোমরা প্রভুকে সম্মান করো।

Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord.

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;

যাহা কিছু কর, প্রাণের সহিত কার্য্য কর, মানুষ্যের কর্ম্ম নয়, কিন্তু প্রভুরই কর্ম্ম বলিয়া কর;

তোমরা সমস্ত কাজ আন্তরিকতার সঙ্গে করো। মানুষের জন্য যে করছ তা নয়, কিন্তু প্রভুর কাজ মনে করেই কাজ করে যাও।

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men;

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

বস্তুতঃ যে অন্যায় করে, সে আপনার কৃত অন্যায়ের প্রতিফল পাইবে।

মনে রেখো, কেউ যদি অন্যায় কাজ করে, সেই ব্যক্তিকে তার অন্যায় কাজের জন্য শাস্তি পেতে হবে। প্রভু সকলকেই সমভাবে বিচার করেন।

For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

প্রভুরা, তোমরা দাসেদের প্রতি ন্যায় ও সাম্য ব্যবহার কর, জানিও যে, তোমাদেরও এক প্রভু স্বর্গে আছেন।

মনিবেরা, তোমরা তোমাদের ক্রীতদাসদের প্রতি ন্যায় ও সৎ ব্যবহার করো। মনে রেখো, স্বর্গে তোমাদেরও এক প্রভু আছেন।

Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.

তোমরা প্রার্থনায় নিবিষ্ট থাক, ধন্যবাদ সহকারে এ বিষয়ে জাগিয়া থাক।

তোমরা প্রার্থনায় নিবিষ্ট থাক; সর্বদা সজাগ থেকো এবং প্রার্থনার সময়ে প্রথমে ঈশ্বরকে ধন্যবাদ জানিও।

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

তোমরা বাহিরের লোকদের প্রতি বুদ্ধিপূর্ব্বক আচরণ কর, সুযোগ কিনিয়া লও।

যারা খ্রীষ্টে বিশ্বাসী নয় তাদের সঙ্গে বুদ্ধিপূর্বক ব্যবহার করো; আর সমস্ত সুযোগের সদ্বব্যবহার করো।

Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

তোমাদের বাক্য সর্ব্বদা অনুগ্রহ সহযুক্ত হউক, লবণে আস্বাদযুক্ত হউক, কাহাকে কেমন  উত্তর দিতে হয়, তাহা যেন তোমরা জানিতে পার।

তোমাদের কথাবার্তা সব সময় যেন বিজ্ঞতা ও মাধুর্যপূর্ণ হয়, তাহলে প্রত্যেক মানুষকে তোমরা যথাযথভাবে উত্তর দিতে পারবে।

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
